Following a number of teasers via Scott’s social media and an appearance on the feet of Adam Levine at Super Bowl LIII, this special edition pair of brown Air Jordan 1s was surprise-dropped via Nike’s SNKRS app during the Grammys on February 10, 2019.
Release date: February 10, 2019. Global release pending
This shoe dropped two days ago, the release was not as wide from my knowledge there were anywhere between 1000-1500 pairs. The resell for it right now is anywhere between 1500-1000 usd.
The hype behind the shoe
As discussed in the last few blogs, a product gets hype due to it being different and out there, something low-key and basic but still visually appealing would not gain as much hype as something very loud and different. The level of hype can usually be determined by the resell for it, this shoe has been all over the gram for the past few days.
The way Travis designed this shoe really left people in thought, and wondered if this was ethically correct, believe it or not some people have an OCD against this minor change. The swoosh, Scott decided to flip the basic Nike swoosh around on the front of the shoe. A general Jordan 1 would look something like this.
This minor change became a conversation started which led the the hype for the shoe, simply because of the fact that it was different it made people talk about it and post about it and thus some people loved it and some people are completely against it.
Not only the swoosh but these few intricate details raised the re sell and the hype for the shoe.
