Streetwear and Hypebeast are two very different terms, streetwear is a style o f clothing, which is built of skateboarding brands and is a part of the hip hop, and Japanese clothing culture or the Japanese street fashion. A Hypebeast is someone who wears the most recent clothing, or the most hyped clothing and shoes, these two terms are often taken as one or confused between.
Some people also refer to someone who is not a hypebeast and is into shoes or that type of clothing as an "OG SNEAKERHEAD" people like these hate the hypebeast culture as they think it is someone who buys that type of clothing/shoes just to flex and show off, and they think of themselves as someone who actually loves the brand/shoe and understands it at a different level. Let me show you the argument between a hypebeast and a OG sneakerhead.
An OG sneakerhead is a shoe enthusiast, unlike hypebeasts they value the history, and tend to value the collection over what is trending. OG sneaker-heads in my opinion are usually into basketball shoes, and value the basketball sneaker world as a whole.
However being called or named a hypebeast cannot be completely taken as a compliment, it should be taken as an insult, as a hypebeast is looked at someone who has the money and can do it, someone who swipes their parents credit card just to have the most sought after or rarest shoes, no matter how it looks if it has the brand name on it then it works. They are the ones who usually wear clothes with bold logos, to flex how much their clothing costs. I must agree i am to a little of a hypebeast. But there are some hypebeasts who try to keep it lowkey by wearing some things that are made by the same brand but are not as rare or that known, that could define me.
There have been cases where a definition of a Hypebeast has really come out, when the Yeezy 350 boost first dropped it was really rare, all hypebeasts and sneaker-heads were trying to get their hands on a pair, but now that yeezys have so many colour-ways and they mass dropped, and are available everywhere, according to hypebeasts Yeezys are "dead" which showed they never liked the shoe in the first place but just bought it for the hype and because it was "trending".
So now that you know the difference what would you categorise yourself as?

Thank you,
